Hello, everyone. Here are my responses to the questions made in the first lecture. Feel free to give any feedback.
1.- How do you define communication?
Communication is a form of language that allows to share different ideas, opinions, and perspectives to those who participate. It is necessary that those who participate listen carefully to what the other say, so they can have a response, otherwise, effective communication will not be possible.
2.- What is the role of communication in management of business?
To be successful in business it is very
important to have an effective communication. And for a business to achieve their
goals efficiently the communication between all their elements needs to be
effective, so there is no room for misunderstandings or double meanings. When
there is a necessity to work on something or a discussion going on having an
effective communication can be solved quickly, without holding up other processes
for a long time.
3.- What are the different purposes of communication? Briefly explain
any five of them.
- For Information: Either is individual
or in groups it’s necessary to know how to exchange knowledge, and this information
must be precise and shared in a way that is fully understandable to the
recipient, whoever they may be.
- For Direction: When superiors have
orders or information that must be sent to lower levels, effective communication
must be used to enable these workers to understand what and how to do what they
are being asked to do.
- For Influencing: Communication it’s a very
powerful tool that can be used to influence people either negatively or
positively. You just need to know how to use it and be able to convey your own
ideas in a way that can convince those around you that things are the way you
want them to be.
- For Evaluation: For this purpose, is
used to check whether what should have been done was actually done and if there
were any errors in the process, why they were made and how they can be
improved.
- For Instruction: Communication must be
clear and concise when giving indications of the steps to follow in order to
carry out what is ordered or requested and that it comes out as expected.
4.- Discuss the different situations when the communication exists.
It initiates with a message needed to be given,
then there must be a receiver who will take the message, analyze it, and based
on his perception and understanding give his feedback.
5.- “Communication is an exchange of facts, ideas, opinions and emotions
by two or more persons.” Explain the statement and discuss the role of feedback
in communication.
When there is an exchange of ideas, opinions or
facts that are being discussed by two or more people, in order to have an
effective communication, it is necessary to understand what was heard and then
add a point by the receiver that gives way to an important and interesting
exchange of the topics under discussion and feedback what is being said.
6.- “Communication is the two-way process”. Explain.
One can’t communicate something if there is no
one else to give some feedback of what is being said. For that reason, to have
an effective communication there needs to be two or more people who can
exchange ideas or opinions.
7.- Discuss the elements of communication process.
First it must exist that you send the
information you want, that information is transformed into a message which is
the idea of that information arranged so that it is understood. Then it is
necessary to choose the way in which this message will be transmitted and
distributed to those to whom it is addressed, and those who receive it become
recipients. Once the message has been received, it has to be decoded and
understood what it is trying to transmit to be able to give feedback once the
receiver's own thinking has been applied. Sometimes there are mistakes made
when trying to give or receive the message that needs to be clarified
8.- Give three examples of brain drain in communication process.
- Age barrier.
- Different languages.
- Lack of feedback.
I agree with You, its very important that at least we have one receiver to get our message and exchange ideas.
ResponderBorrarI like the concept you have about communication, because it is everything that allows us to express ourselves.
ResponderBorrarI really like the explanation you gave for the statement that communication is a two way process, I agree that it is important to have a response from the person that the information is being transmitted to, because it helps us establish a free flow of information exchange.
ResponderBorrarI agree with you on point 8, especially with -Different languages- because I just feel that way when I don't understand something about the class from
ResponderBorrarI am in complete agreement with your answer to question 6. An effective communication is one in which at least 2 people interact with each other sharing information. It would not make much sense to want to communicate something to someone who is not willing to create a two-way dialogue.
ResponderBorrarI agree with you, we cannot communicate something if there is no one who feeds back what you want to communicate. Our answers match, very well.
ResponderBorrarI like how you explained the communication as a two-way process. I agree with your statement, if there's only one person, there won't be any kind of feedback, and therefore, there won't be any progress.
